02Solutions · Connectivity

Infrastructure and connectivity.

The network that carries video and alerts from the pole on the street to the room that acts on them.

01Problem

Each camera needs a path.

Laying fiber to each camera location takes time and budget. Distributed sites also need a network that routes video to the right level: local teams in real time, regional command in summary.

  1. 01Trenching delays new sites.
  2. 02Video from many sites overloads a single center.
  3. 03Radio and video networks run separately.

02System · Connectivity

Wireless links. Two-level routing.

Connectivity connects control points with radio bridges and radio-relay links, places a switch at each pole, and routes streams to local control points and on to regional command.

  • Radio bridges

Wireless links between poles and control points.

  • Radio-relay links

Relay points for longer paths across terrain.

  • Pole switches

A network switch at each control point.

  • Local control points

    Real-time streams for local teams.

  • Regional routing

    Consolidated streams to regional command.

  • Radio and voice

DMR radio and IP speakers on the same operational layer.

03Architecture

Access, backhaul, routing.

Switches collect the streams at each pole. Radio bridges and relays carry them to the local control point, which forwards a consolidated stream to regional command.

04Capabilities

What the network provides.

Transport

Radio bridges
Wireless links between poles and control points.
Radio-relay links
Relay points for longer paths across terrain.
Pole switches
A network switch at each control point.
Fast deployment
No trenching between poles and control points.

Design

Two-level routing
Real-time streams locally; consolidated streams to regional command.
Video network design
Link paths and capacity planned for video.
Radio and voice integration
DMR radio and IP speakers on the same operational layer.

05Operational workflow

From survey to live link.

  1. 01

    Survey

Line of sight and link paths between poles and control points.

  2. 02

    Design

Topology, capacity and routing between levels.

  3. 03

    Install

Switches, radios and antennas on poles and buildings.

  4. 04

    Commission

Links tested end to end with live video.

  5. 05

    Monitor

Link status watched from the control point.

06Deployment model

From survey to operation.

Wireless links let a new site go live without waiting for civil works.

  1. 01

    Assess

Sites, distances, terrain and existing networks.

  2. 02

    Design

    Link plan, topology and capacity.

  3. 03

    Deploy

Switches, radio links and control-room network.

  4. 04

    Integrate

Cameras, command systems, DMR radio and IP speakers.

  5. 05

    Operate

    Monitoring, maintenance and system development.

07Integration

Part of one system.
